Ninth Count Athenry Oranmore LEA: Cronnelly retains his seat

Following the ninth count in the Athenry Oranmore electoral area, outgoing councillor Gabe Cronnelly has been returned – filling the fourth seat of seven in this electoral area.

Cronnelly joined James Charity (Ind), Albert Dolan (FF) and Jim Cuddy (Ind), following the elimination of Fine Gael’s Helen Jennings.

That has boosted the prospects of David Collins (FG), Shelly Herterich Quinn (FF) and Liam Carroll (FG) of winning seats with Josette Farrell likely to lose out.

The distribution of Cronnelly’s surplus of 235 is currently taking place for what will be the last count in this electoral area.
