New soup kitchen to open in Loughrea
Galway Bay fm newsroom- A new soup kitchen is to open in Loughrea.
”Twist” has secured a premises on Dunkellin street and will open to the public at the end of this month.
The organisation currently feeds over 15 hundred people a week through its kitchens in areas such as Tuam, Sligo, Athlone and Loughrea.
The former soup kitchen in the city is closed but a mobile service is offered twice weekly, and it’s understood negotiations are underway to open a new premises.
Founder and managing director of Twist, Oliver Williams says the Loughrea service will also incorporate a charity shop.
