NEW POST OFFICE IN INDREABHAN OPENS TODAY

Locals in Indreabhán will no longer have to travel to neighbouring towns to satisfy their Post Office needs.

Owner of the local supermarket Siopa an Phobail, Derek Kerrigan is opening a new self contained unit in his shop around now.[11AM]

An Post closed the local branch in Indreabhán last December due to circumstances described as "beyond their control".

This forced locals to travel 8 kilometres to the nearest office in Baile na hAbhainn to collect their social welfare and pension payments.
