NEW MARKETING PLATFORM FOR 260 GALWAY PRODUCERS

140 Galway craft producers and 120 local food producers are being given a new platform to showcase their wares.

‘Made in Galway’ is a Galway County Council initiative designed to support and encourage cultural and economic development.

The online directory allows producers to promote their products for free as part of efforts to make Galway an international tourist product.

‘Screen West’ is also part of the initiative which provides a one stop shop for available film-making resources.

It’s after a survey revealed that just 1 percent of tourists come to Galway as a result of seeing films that were made here.

Brian Barrett is leading the Galway County Council initiaive and told Galway Bay fm news that it aims to tackle the current disconnect between local producers and the consumer.
