NEW BUS ROUTE FROM BARNA TO EASE CITY TRAFFIC

It’s hoped a new bus route from Barna will help ease traffic congestion in the city.

Bus Eireann has secured a licence to considerably improve the bus service from Barna and increase the service from Knocknacarra to the City to a high freguency service.

The new route will serve a number of schools including Colaiste Einde, Salerno Secondary School, the Dominican College on Taylor’s Hill, Presentation Secondary School, Colaiste Iognaid and St Mary’s College.

Galway West TD Frank Fahy says the new route could considerably reduce city-bound school traffic, as long as students use the service.
