New album highlights wealth of talent

A new album being released this week seeks to put a spotlight on the many international musicians living in Galway City and County.

The much-awaited launch of Sean Agus Nua: Éagsúlacht, a CD that showcases the quality of world music to be found in Galway, takes place this Thursday night, May 10, in the Victoria Hotel.

This 16-track CD features a wide array of music from the four corners of the globe, performed mainly by Galway-based ethnic musicians who are well known locally and, in certain cases, internationally. There are, in addition, some well-kept secrets to be discovered within this CD, which was recorded at Shay’s Studio, Loughrea.
