NEGOTATIONS CONTINUE IN BALLINASLOE SLUDGE ROW

Talks are ongoing this evening in the standoff between Ballinasloe farmer Padraig Clarke and the company N6 Construction.

Both sides say they’re confident a resolution will be reached in the row over sludge disposal

Mr. Clarke, who spent last night in his jeep guarding his field, has been in talks with a representative from N6 Construction since late afternoon.

Speaking to Galway Bay FM News, Nigel Tarmaster from N6 Construction says talks are moving along nicely this evening, and he’s very confident an amicable resolution will be reached.

Mr Clarke says he too feels the talks are going well at this point, but warns his protest will continue if he doesn’t receive adequate compensation.
