NEED FOR COMMUNITY ALERT SCHEMES HIGHLIGHTED AT POLICIING COMMITTEE MEETING

There is a major drive to set up community alert schemes in communities across the county.

113 burglaries were recorded in the county between January and March of this year, a 5 point 6 percent increase on the same time frame last year.

This week, Muintir na tíre gave a detailed presentation to members of the Galway county policing committee outlining areas where the community alert scheme had lapsed in recent years.
