Kevin Neary...new release.

Mountbellew native Kevin Neary has been performing in various guises around Dublin since 2013 – but over the last two years, he has made a concerted effort to hone his songwriting, and his live show has evolved alongside a growing catalogue dynamic original material.

For his latest release, he has gone back to a song that first formed in 2018, and one that has been central to his set in the interim.

Man of Faith was released last Friday; a soul/folk-rock ballad, the track gives ample space to Kevin’s voice – the guttural, evocative epicentre of his sound.

Drawing comparisons with the likes of Dermot Kennedy and Hozier, this third single feels like a very significant moment in his burgeoning career. The reaction it has received to this point has mirrored its impact in live shows over the last few years.

There’s a bit of fear that comes with that. I felt like this was the best song I had, and it was the song everyone reacted best to…

“The way I’ve described it before is that music is like a VHS in a video store. A new movie comes out and it’s at the front of the shelf one week and the following week it’s at the back.
