The company known as N6 Construction has given assurances that three staff will be assigned to deal with damage caused by works on the new N6 Dublin to Galway road.

The move follows a four hour meeting today between members of the Spanish – Irish construction company as well as the NRA, Galway County council and public representatives.

The meeting centred on the contentious issue of local roads and farmlands flooded and damaged by the construction work.

N6 Construction has now agreed to assign two engineers and a project manager who will agree a schedule of maintenance works that will take place over the next few weeks.

Speaking after the meeting, Ballinasloe Councillor Michael Mullins says the pressure will be kept on N6 Construction to uphold this deal.
