N6 CITY UPGRADE TO IMPROVE JOURNEY TIMES

The multi million euro upgrade of the city’s N6 route will greatly improve journey times for motorists.

That’s according to consultant engineers, AECOM, who gave a presentation to city councillors this evening about the N6 bothar na dTreabh improvement scheme.

AECOM has been enlisted by the National Roads Authority, which has allocated €4.1 million this year for the upgrade of the route from the Quincentenary bridge to the Briarhill junction.

As part of the overall plan,roundabouts along the route, including the Lynch roundabout at Briarhill will be replaced by signalised junctions.
