N17 REOPENS FOLLOWING FATAL CRASH

The main N17 has re-opened following a fatal crash there this morning

A woman in her fifties was killed and another woman is in hospital following the collision on the Galway-Tuam Road at Cregboy in Claregalway

The crash happened around 9.40am when the woman was hit by a car as she walked along the N17 opposite the turn-off from Whiriskey refrigeration

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and her name will not be released until all family members have been informed of her death
