A major development planned for Barna has been blocked because of poor sewerage infrastructure.

An Bord Pleanála has overturned a decision by the county council to grant permission to Liam O’Toole to build 94 houses, shops and creche at Heather Hill, Trusky East.

In refusing Liam O’Toole permission to build behind Heather Hill, the appeal board says it would be premature pending the upgrade of the current Mutton Island Sewage Treatment Plant.
