Charity music event Corrib Live will take place next Friday, February 12, in the city’s Commercial Boat Club, Woodquay, with all proceeds going to COPE Galway Waterside House and the Access Music Project. The concert is being organised and run by Sound Production students from the Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme based in Galway City.

Headline acts will include iRocks winners Rofi James, the Galway  trad-rock band Cúla Búla, and a showcase from the Access Music Project. There will be a few more surprises, including buskers, DJs and finger food, all for the bargain admission of €5.

Last year’s concert raised almost €2,500 for the charities, and the sound production students at VTOS Galway hope to surpass that total this year. The venue and equipment have been donated free of charge, and Galway businesses have donated some fantastic spot prizes for a raffled on the night.

COPE Galway Waterside House is the only 24-hour accessible refuge in the Western region, providing safe accommodation, information support and court accompaniment to women and their children experiencing domestic violence.

Access Music Project is a course based around performance and theory, providing a great opportunity for local musicians to further their knowledge and abilities.

Tickets from the Ticket Desk in OMG (Formerly Zhivago) Shop Street; COPE Galway, St Augustine Street; the Sound Production Students at VTOS, Merchant’s Square, Galway City, or by contacting corriblive15@gmail.com
