Much to admire in fired-up footballers

GALWAY came under the aura of the Northern Lights at Omagh’s Healy Park on Saturday night last and the experience fairly lit up their chances of winning a first National League title since 1981.
True, there was a mitigating circumstance for Tyrone in that they were short close on a half dozen of regular warriors, but there was much to admire in the sheer grit and defiance of this Galway display.
It is no mean achievement to come away from the fortress that is Healy Park with two league points, a result which maintains Galway’s 100% record in the competition and keeps them bang on course for a top two league finish.
There were moments though in the opening 10 minutes of this match when the travelling group of Galway fans felt that their trip might have been in vain when Omagh was swallowed up in a vicious swirl of storm gales and rain.
