MOYCULLEN 14 WIND TURBINE PLAN REJECTED

A local campaign group has welcomed the rejection of plans to build a 14 turbine wind farm near Moycullen.

An Bord Pleanala has overturned Galway County Council’s earlier recommendation that the development go ahead, based on its proximity to an area rich in archaeology.

The windfarm was approved by Galway County Council last year and was to be built at a site west of the N59 at Knockranny.
