MOVES UNDERWAY TO SELECT NEW ROUTE FOR OUTER CITY BYPASS

The NRA is pushing ahead in the search to find an acceptable alternative to the rejected outer city bypass route.

It’s asked the National Roads Development Office and their consultants to come up with alternative routes to that which was refused last December by An Bord Pleanála.

The Board refused development west of the N59 between the junction of Gortatleva and An Baile Nua.

The Galway office has the funding to bring the new route selection process as far as the public consultation stage.

The move is being welcomed by Minister and Galway West TD Eamon O Cuiv
