MOUNTING SPECULATION THAT SEVERAL UNITS OF MERLIN PARK HOSPITAL ARE TO CLOSE

There’s mounting speculation that several sections of Merlin Park hospital are to close down from September.

It’s understood the HSE have discussed the move with senior medical personnel.

Galway Bay FM News understands that Unit 4, the only Stroke Unit for stroke victims in the West, is among the wards to be closed.

However it’s believed the dialysis unit and the two long-stay units 5 and 6 are to remain open.
