MOTORCYCLIST DIES IN ROAD CRASH NEAR PORTUMNA BORDER

A male motorcyclist has died following a road crash near the Portumna border this afternoon.

The incident happened at around 12.20 at the junction of the Athlone Rd and the Portumna Rd (N65/R438).

The N65 Borrisokane to Loughrea Rd has been closed between Borrisokane and Portumna.

Diversions are in place via the Portumna to Birr Rd (R489) and the N52 Birr to Tullamore Rd.
