Motion of no confidence in PCCC mental health services for East Galway and Roscommon
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Regional Health Forum West has passed a motion of no confidence in the Primary Community and Continuing Care group for the Galway Roscommon region.
The motion was proposed by Tuam Area Cllr Shaun Cunniffe with 11 members in support and one abstention.
It was raised due to what Cllr Cunniffe described as ‘incomprehensible decisions’ within mental health services in East Galway and Roscommon.
Gerry O’Neill, Regional Director of Performance & Integration said he had full faith in the clinical team that work in the Galway and Roscommon area and that the reformed mental health services structure will be ‘second to none’.
Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, Cllr Cunniffe said the residential unit at Toghermore and the reorganisation of beds in the acute pyschiatric unit in Ballinasloe are both key factors in the vote of no confidence.
