More time sought for hotel and golf complex in Corrandulla
Galway Bay fm newsroom – More time is being sought to redevelop a protected castle in Corrandulla.
NJP Developments has applied for an extension of planning permission to redevelop Cregg Castle and grounds into a golf course complex.
The changes which were already granted planning permission in 2009 involve changing Cregg Castle from residential to golf club use.
It would also involve renovating outbuildings into 5 golf lodges and demolishing 20th century stables.
A 100 bedroom hotel is also part of the plans for the castle estate as well as an 18 hole golf course and a two-storey carpark.
However NJP Developments is seeking 5 more years of planning permission, so that it can still go ahead with the plan for Cregg Castle.
County planners are due to make a decision in the coming weeks.
