More than 10 percent of Galway children in care have no social worker
Galway bay fm newsroom – More than 10 percent of children in HSE care in Galway did not have a social worker assigned to them in the year to the end of November.
According to today’s Irish Times, the number of children nationally without a social worker fell from a high of 600 in October to 569 in November.
However the HSE target is to have a social worker assigned to all children in State care.
In the local health office in Galway, the level of children with an assigned social worker was below 90 percent.
