MORE SCHOOL BUSES COULD EASE CITY TRAFFIC
Date Published: 01-Mar-2011
If the demand is there, city bus operators would be prepared to put more school runs in place
That’s according to City Councillor Donal Lyons, who believes it would ease traffic congestion at peak times.
The Department of Education provides subsidised school transport for post-primary students who are eligible for the scheme.
The service is only provided where there are at least 7 eligible pupils in an area that can be economically serviced by a bus route.
