MORE GALWAY DRIVERS PENALISED FOR USING MOBILE PHONES

The number of penalty points issued to Galway motorists for driving while using a mobile phone has increased by over 60 per cent in the last 12 months.

That’s according to new figures released by the Road Safety Authority today.

More than 3,100 Galway motorists were penalised for using their mobile phones while driving since July 31st 2008.

That’s a 63 per cent increase on the figure of 1936 recorded last year.
