The Mayor of Galway has called for more books of condolence to be opened in the city for murdered language student Manuela Riedo.

Mayor Tom Costello says a book is now opened in City Hall on College Road and he’s hopeful that books will be opened in some of the libraries around the city later today.

Mayor Costello will also attend the Mass of Remembrance and Solidarity which will take place in Renmore Church on Thursday evening at 7.30

It’s aim is to allow Galway people express their sympathy to Manuela’s parents, family and friends and to help heal the hurt felt by local people

Galway Gardai say while no breakthrough has yet been made in the hunt for the 17 year old’s killer they feel the investigation is progressing satisfactorily
