Galway’s newest indoor music festival, Rocktoberfest, returns to Monroe’s Live for four days from Thursday, October 1, to Sunday, October 4, featuring over 20 up-and-coming Irish groups.

Over four nights, a variety of acts will play across two stages in Monroe’s, so punters can expect to hear a mix that includes rock, electronica, pop, indie and folk. Participants at Rocktoberfest include The Hot Sprockets, Plutonic Dust, Tobi Kaye, Vann Music, the Orchid Collective and Wood Burning Savages.

The Wood Burning Savages performed at the Glastonbury BBC Introducing Stage in 2014 and recently completed a UK-wide tour promoting their current EP, Boom. Their live sets are ablaze with fuzz guitar and infectious, pop/rock melodies.

“We are extremely excited to be hosting Rocktoberfest again this year,” says venue owner Gary Monroe, adding that he is “delighted to provide a festival and a stage for emerging Irish talent”.

The Rocktober Festival is in association with Bulmers and Becks, while Galway Bay FM are media sponsors.

More acts will be announced over the coming weeks.
