Minor ladies footballers in big test against Dubs

GALWAY’S minor ladies footballers will be bidding for All-Ireland championship glory when they on Dublin in McDonagh Park, Nenagh on Monday next (3.15pm).

Team manager Daniel Moynihan, along with selectors Nioclas McDonnacha, Chrissie Ward and Roisín Ní Shuilleabháin have guided Galway to the brink of title success, having produced a great performance to defeat Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final.

In contrast, Dublin had a much easier time of it in their semi-final, romping home against an outclassed Donegal outfit and scoring a staggering ten goals and 18 points in the process.

The teams last met each other at U-16 level two years ago in a semi-final and although the Dubs ran out easy winners on that occasion, Galway supporters felt that the occasion got to the girls from the West that day. More will be expected from them on Monday.
