MINISTER TO MEET EAST GALWAY BOGOWNERS FOR CRUNCH TALKS

The Minister for Heritage Jimmy Deenihan has invited bogowners from two bogs in East Galway to crunch talks in the Dáil later.

The bogowners from Clonmoylan and Barroughter are among several owners in East Galway who are opposed to any ban on bog cutting.

On his last visit to Galway County Council over two weeks ago, Minister Deenihan told around 50 protestors there would be no U-turn on the Government decision to ban turf-cutting on raised bogs.
