MINISTER SAYS SURVEY FINDINGS ON UGH A&E MISUNDERSTOOD
Date Published: 06-Feb-2012
The Health Minister says a survey highlighting a shortage of senior doctors in Emergency Departments, including University Hospital Galway, is misunderstood.
The survey – carried out by the Irish Association of Emergency Medicine – suggests that more than half of registrar posts remain unfilled in eight of the country’s emergency departments.
As well as UHG they include Temple Street and Connolly Hospitals in Dublin, as well as hospitals in Limerick, Mayo, Kildare and Donegal.
