Minister of State says Gort to Tuam motorway not shelved
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Minister of State and Galway East T.D, Ciaran Cannon says the delay in starting work on the M17 Gort to Tuam motorway is due to ‘protracted negotiations.

The Government has committed 20 million euro to the project, which will be a public-private partnership.
Direct Route consortium has been selected as the preferred bidder and negotiations between the group and the National Roads Authority are underway.
It’s hoped the scheme can get underway as soon as possible to provide much needed construction jobs to the area, however it’ll be at least the end of the year before negotiations are complete.
