MINISTER DEMPSEY SAYS TUAM TO CLAREMORRIS LINE WILL GO AHEAD BUT LATER THAN ORIGINALLY PLANNED

Transport Minister Noel Dempsey is insisting the Tuam to Claremorris phase of the Western Rail corridor will go ahead, although much later than originally announced

This phase 2 of the project was originally due to be completed by next year, but Minister Dempsey has acknowledged that this will not now be the case as it will take a few years

However, he says he remains committed to the project, and says it is included in the revised Capital Development Programme, but would not be drawn on an exact timeframe
