MINISTER CONFIRMS FUNDING FOR NEW GLENAMADDY SCHOOL

Minister for Education Mary Hanafin has told a delegation from Glenamaddy Community school that she will be including them in next month’s funding tranche to pay for the 8.6 million euro new school.

Concerned parents, teachers and local politicians had galvanised the whole community behind their campaign at a public meeting on Monday after fears were expressed that the funding wouldn’t come through.

It means construction will begin on a new school before the end of June, when planning permission expires.
