MINISTER ANNOUNCES BALLINASLOE FLOOD FUNDING DURING GALWAY VISIT

The Minister of State Brian Hayes has announced 80 thousand euro in funding for more flood repair works in Ballinasloe.

The Minister is visiting the areas worst hit by the 2009 flooding in East and South Galway today.

Junior Minister Hayes will inspect Flood relief schemes in Ballinasloe, Kilcolgan, Gort and other South Galway flooding locations.

The 80 thousand euro announced today will pay for consultant design fees, repair works and land acquisition around the East Bridge in Ballinasloe.

Galway East Deputy Paul Connaughton now wants to see work begin on the East Bridge as soon as possible.
