Mince pies allow Galway workers make it a happy Christmas for African project
Date Published: {J}
THE Alan Kerins African Projects has teamed up with the Gourmet Tart Co to hold the Galway Christmas Coffee Morning throughout the city next week.
From 14 to 18 December, the Gourmet Tart Co will deliver batches of their delicious mince pies to companies throughout the city, free of charge, and employees can then make a donation to this very worthy cause.
The first of its kind for the charity, it will raise much-needed funds for the development of a major training and educational centre in Zambia to encourage self-sustenance.
Liam Bluett, member of the Alan Kerins African Projects Board of Directors says: “Funding is a challenge particularly in these difficult economic times. Local support is needed now more than ever.
“We have come so far to help these people help themselves. With a few more steps, we can achieve our ultimate goal.”
Michelle O’Donnell, owner of Gourmet Tart Co. said: “We’re delighted to be involved with Galway’s Christmas Coffee morning. We want as many companies to take part as possible. The more mince pies we can give away, the greater the benefit that will be achieved for Alan Kerins African Projects and the people of Zambia.”
Any company in Galway can get involved and host a workplace coffee morning. To register, contact Alan Kerins African Projects on 091 586547.
