MILLIONS OF GOVERNMENT FUNDING TO CITY VEC REMAIN UNSPENT

The Government’s spending watchdog has found that millions of euro given to the City of Galway VEC almost three years ago remains unspent.

The Comptroller and Auditor General John Purcell discovered that €3.1m allocated to the VEC by the Department of Education in September 2005 to buy a site for a school has yet to be spent.
