MICHEAL KITT GETS HIGH LEVEL DAIL POST

Galway East Fianna Fáil T.D, Micheál Kitt has been chosen as the Dáil’s deputy Ceann Comhairle.

He was proposed by Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore and was unanimously selected to the Leas Ceann Comhairle role.

The role, which is effectively vice-chairman of the Dáil carries the same pay and status of a Junior Minister.

It’s understood there were three other members of the Fianna Fáil party interested in the role, but Micheál Kitt was the only name put forward.
