Galway bay fm newsroom – Oireachtas members in East Galway have pledged to raise the closure of the 22-bed psychiatric unit in Ballinasloe at a meeting of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party.

They made the promise as protestors gathered at a selection convention for the party at Gullanes Hotel in Ballinasloe last night. (17/2)

It followed a meeting of the East Galway Mental Health Action group and the politicians prior to the convention.
