Menlough goals prove decisive

AFTER giving a spirited display against Caltra in the opening round, Jimmy Screene’s Menlough truly announced their arrival in senior championship football when they pounced for a qualifier victory over 2006 county semi-finalists Caherlistrane at Tuam Stadium on Sunday evening.

Two timely goals in the second half sealed the issue for last year’s intermediate champions, who showed enough appetite, heart and guile to merit this win. Simply, they worked hard and seized the opportunity presented to them.
