Medtronic to undergo ‘global restructuring’ in May

WORKERS at the city’s Medtronic medical devices plant – officially recognised this week as one of the top 50 workplaces in Ireland – have been told that the company will be outlining a global restructuring programme in early May.

Medtronic, which employs approximately 2,000 people at its Parkmore Industrial Estate plant, has confirmed that the global restructuring to be announced in May, will set up the company for its future development.

However, a spokesperson for the company stressed that the restructuring proposed was a global programme and that no further details about the exercise would be available before the official announcement in May.
