Medical centre for Knocknacarra retail park

CITY planning officials have given the green light for revisions to the second phase of the ‘Gateway Galway’ retail park in Knocknacarra, which is set to include one of the country’s first state-of-the-art ‘primary care’ health facilities.
The Moritz Group (the Rumbold Builders parent company) were successful in their application to make changes to the previously approved development, which will now include a 40,000 square foot ‘primary care’ complex, which has been designed to Health Service Executive standards.
A spokesperson for the developers said the complex will offer suites to General Practitioners and other health professionals.
“This type of service is in line with the HSE strategy of offering comprehensive primary care services in the community. Knocknacarra was identified by the HSE as a location for the first wave of such centres around the country,” the spokesperson said.
