MD HP GALWAY REASSURES LOCAL WORKFORCE

Hewlett-Packard Galway recorded a loss of almost 9 million euro in the year to the end of October 2010.

The company provides software and services to customers globally and is moving more towards research and development and away from manufacturing.

However, Managing Director HP Galway, Mark Gantly says there is no reason for concern and there is no threat to jobs.

The recorded loss is linked to extraordinary costs involving pension contributions.
