McInerneys Loughrea among ‘Top Ten’ SuperValu stores in Ireland

McInerney’s SuperValu Loughrea were announced finalist in the running for the highly coveted “SuperValu Store of the Year 2014” title, having fought off stiff competition from all SuperValu stores across the country.

McInerney’s are the only store in Galway to have been in the field since 2011m the year they won the title. They are also current holders of Ireland’s Best in Fresh title and won Ireland’s Best Fruit & Veg in 2012.

McInerney’s SuperValu, Loughrea was presented with their finalist award by SuperValu Managing Director, Martin Kelleher, Michael Morgan, Sales Director, SuperValu and John Acton, O2, competition sponsors.

SuperValu stores throughout the Republic of Ireland were assessed and adjudicated by independent competition judge, Joe Comerford, in determining the ten deserving finalists, giving special comment on McInerney’s fresh food offering in particular.

The audits undertaken focused on customer care, store presentation, fresh food quality, product range, operational standards, store hygiene and local community involvement.

SuperValu Managing Director, Martin Kelleher praised the stores success.

“This is a tremendous achievement as these stores have been acknowledged for maintaining high retail standards across their store.

“They  are real proof that offering real quality and value in addition to excellent customer service  are not just an add-on to what SuperValu do, but very much part of each stores’ everyday routine.

“As a team we strive towards one goal, which is providing the absolute best value, service and range for our customers. We are delighted that this award recognises the endeavours of McInerney’s Supervalu Loughrea a local family business and an integral part of the community for over 100 years,” he said.
