Galway's Rob McDonnell on his way to finishing fifth in the 200m at the European U20 Championships in Tallinn over the weekend.

TOKYO bound Robert McDonnell continued his excellent season when competing for Ireland at the European Under 20 Championships in Tallinn, Estonia over the weekend.

McDonnell raced over 200m at this prestigious event, and came home a superb fifth overall in a top-class final, clocking 21.19 behind UK winner Derek Kinlock. The talented GCH athlete made it through the heats, winning his first race, and progressing through the semi-finals to reach Saturday’s decider.
