Mayor Lyons joins President Higgins in Lorient for twinning commemoration
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Mayor of Galway, Donal Lyons and President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins, will travel to France this morning(Fri) for a special exhibition.
The exhibition is Galway’s contribution to the 2014 Festival Inter-Celtique de Lorient.
It’s part of early stage planning for the 40th anniversary of Galway’s twinning with Lorient next year.
Deputy Chief Executive of the City Council, Joe O’ Neill will also travel with the Mayor.
The festival will also include an Irish Food Promotion element and Mayor Lyons will attend the L.E Nimah for a reception with the President of the festival, local officials and Irish community representatives.
On Sunday, Mayor Lyons will visit the Galway Inn Irish pub to meet the local GAA community and Brittany GAA teams.
