Maternity services in West to be part of national review
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Minister for Health is under pressure to reveal the terms of reference for a national review of maternity services.
It’s emerged that the West/North-West Hospital Group has shelved a controversial review of services in the area.
It follows the resignation of the Group chairman, Noel Daly, after it emerged he had a stake in the consultancy firm that carried out the review of maternity services in the region.
Maternity services in West/North-West will now be subject to the national review already underway by the HSE and Department of Health.
Fianna Fáil Senator Marc McSharry says Minister James Reilly needs to make a statement on the future of the country’s maternity services.
