Marty Walsh takes oath of office of Mayor of Boston

The inauguration ceremony of the 54th Mayor of Boston and son of Connemara emigrants, Marty Walsh, is well underway.

Thousands of people, including Galway Mayors Padraig Conneely and Liam Carroll are attending the ceremony at Boston’s college.

The oath of office has been administered by the chief justice of the Massachusetts supreme judicial court Roderick L. Ireland.
