MARCH ANNOUNCEMENT EXPECTED IN GALWAYS VOLVO STOPOVER BID

Galway will have to wait until March to find out if it’s been chosen as a stopover in the next Volvo Ocean Race.

Galway is competing against Lorient in France and the Portugese capital Lisbon to host a stopover in the 2011-2012 race.

Race organisers will announce the first stopover city at 10 o’clock tomorrow morning but are refusing to reveal which continent it will be on.
