MAN TRANSFERRED TO BEAUMOUNT FOLLOWING OVERNIGHT CRASH IN EYRE SQUARE

A 20 year old man has been hospitalised following an overnight collision in Eyre Square.

The incident involving a car and the male pedestrian occurred in the Rosemary Avenue area at around 12.35am.

It’s understood the pedestrian incurred serious injuries and has since been transferred to Beaumount Hospital in Dublin for treatment.

The driver of the car is not understood to have sustained any serious injuries.

Gardai have partially closed off access to Eyre Square this morning from Rosemary Avenue following the incident.

However the closure is not impinging on traffic.
