Man to be sentenced on child porn charges
A 29-years-old Moycullen man will be sentenced this week for possessing child pornography.
Sean Stewart, from Drumaveg, Moycullen, pleaded guilty last week before Galway Circuit Criminal Court to a single charge of having child pornography in his possession containing visual representations relating to persons who were, or who were depicted as being, children under the age of 17 years and who were engaged in or were depicted as being engaged in explicit sexual activity.
He is alleged to have had the images on a HP G60 laptop, on a Scandisk Cruzer USB stick, on a Samsung GT-15500 mobile phone and on a Samsung GT-5839i mobile phone, at a house in Gort na Glaise, Sandy Road, Galway, on November 27, 2013.
Defence barrister, Bernard Condon SC, told the court the prosecuting Garda was not available and he asked for sentence to be adjourned until this week.
Judge Rory McCabe agreed.
