Man remanded in custody on city arson charge

A man has been remanded in custody, charged with arson at a house in the city last weekend.
40-year-old Thomas McGinley from 118 Claremont Park, Rahoon, was arrested last Sunday, following a house fire at Munster Avenue the previous day.
He appeared before Galway District Court yesterday charged with under Section 2 of the Criminal Damage Act. The entire house was fire and smoke damaged.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Harristown Court, adjacent to Castlerea prison, this Friday.
